Biography
Maxence Demerlé is Digital Director at Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), the French business confederation, which brings together 107 sectoral organisations and 120 local organisations representing 250,000 companies. She has held the role since 2019.
As Digital Director she chairs the MEDEF digital and innovation commission, covering technological and digital foresight; tools, guides and events to support companies in the digital economy; and public advocacy. She is currently chair of the BusinessEurope digital affairs working group. Her portfolio includes artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital sustainability and data sharing.
Before MEDEF she was Director General of AFNUM, the organisation for IT and telecoms infrastructure and a MEDEF member. Earlier she advised on social and cultural issues in the National Assembly, after beginning her career in technology companies. She holds a Master 2 in law from Université Panthéon-Assas and completed the French Army’s 2021–2022 national defence and security session. In September 2025 she was appointed as a qualified person to the special digital committee of the French Parliament.
At the Paris Resilience Summit she joins the executive roundtable on SME resilience.
