Biography

Katryna Dow is the CEO and founder of Meeco, a personal data and verifiable credentials platform aligned to European Union regulations to enable people to securely exchange their identity and personal data with the services and organisations they trust.

Katryna has been pioneering personal data rights since 2002, when she first envisioned that personal data sovereignty, identity and contextual privacy would be as important as being connected. Now, with privacy regulation, identity and AI converging, the capabilities provided by Meeco are increasingly necessary to build trust across all digital transactions.

She is the author of To Bot or Not to Bot: Conscious Agentic Deployment in a Rapidly Changing World, co-author and co-architect of Meeco’s technical white paper Zero Knowledge Proofs of the Modern Digital Life for Access, Control, Delegation and Consent of Identity and Personal Data, and co-author of the blockchain identity paper Immutable Me.

Katryna has been consecutively named one of the Top 100 Identity Influencers and speaks globally on digital rights, privacy and data innovation. Since 2024 she has been an active member of the Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment, currently working on conscious AI deployment. She is a business expert on new business models for the EU Data Spaces Support Centre. Between 2020 and 2022 she served as a Director for the MyData Global Board, with a strategic focus on jurisdictional approaches to personal data rights and business models. In 2020 she joined Data Sovereignty Now as Meeco’s representative to advocate for standards and soft infrastructure to enable a more equitable European digital economy.

In 2016, Katryna started working on AI frameworks and data access, serving on two IEEE standards working groups: Co-Chair for the Personal Data and Privacy Committee, part of the Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in the Design of Autonomous Systems, and Chair to scope a standard for a Personal Data Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agent. She was a founding member of The Council of Extended Intelligence (CXI), a joint initiative between the IEEE Standards Association and MIT Media Lab.

Prior to Meeco she founded and operated a strategy consulting practice, with extensive global experience in strategy-to-execution roles in start-ups to major corporate change and implementation projects. She has held leadership positions in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, the United States and India, with sector experience in information technology, financial services, health services and human resources.
