Biography

Carlos Uribe is Deputy Chief of UNESCO’s Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Unit, with around 20 years of international experience in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience and multi-hazard risk management. Before joining UNESCO, he worked with UNDRR at regional and global levels and previously with UNDP, supporting disaster risk management and post-disaster recovery. His work focuses on risk knowledge, early warning systems, resilience, and the integration of disaster and climate risk into public policy, planning and investment.
